Red lines, drawing red lines
Building lines are special lines, the main task of which is to define the boundaries between the building and other real estate objects. Red lines in urban planning documents are located on the construction plan of a specific land plot and certify not only the lines that are intended for main communications, historical objects of culture and main streets, but also indicate clear boundaries for the implementation of the construction process.
Red lines are of the following types:
- Project lines;
Design red lines are created in order to document where the streets and roads will pass.
- Existing lines;
The existing lines show the border of the territory,
which is intended for public use. In that case, if it is necessary to add new red lines near real estate objects, then all data are entered in the general state cadastre.
During the implementation of the construction process, red lines play an important role and show how the distance from the red line to the house,
as well as the location of other real estate objects.

The red construction lines indicate the distance and boundaries that separate driveways and streets from the territory intended for the implementation of the construction process.

Red road lines are special markings that fix conditional boundaries,
which separate the road from the territory with another purpose.
The red lines of the streets are intended to separate the street and the area where the construction will be carried out.
Why is it necessary to draw red construction lines?
Red lines are an integral stage in the implementation of the construction of each real estate object. Thanks to properly developed red lines, architectural accuracy and relevance of the future building is achieved. Bringing red lines to nature involves a number of preparatory works,
which consist of an inspection and survey of the real estate object, as well as an analysis of compliance with the already approved red line plan. The next stage is the determination of the method of breakdown and the formation of a geodetic project of the breakdown of red lines. The defined red lines are drawn on the topographic plan of the future building with the coordinates of the points,
taking into account the turns of the red building lines in the urban coordinate system.

The main rules for drawing red lines are:
- Red lines are drawn on a topographical plan with a scale of 1:500 – 1: 2000;
- When drawing red lines, the following elements are taken into account:
- the length of the red lines between the corners of the blocks and the boundaries of the microdistricts;
- Width of passageways, sizes and radii of rounding;
- Red lines are drawn on topographic plan with a scale of 1:500 – 1:2000;

The dimensions of the project components must be fixed in the plan in accordance with the existing construction situation, and also be agreed on the territory of the city.

In the event that there is a paved road on the site selected for construction, then such a site will not be suitable for the construction process.
